Citadel Joins Folds of Honor to Support the Families of Our Nation’s Heroes
By Team Citadel on Aug 27, 2025
At Citadel Security, our mission has always gone beyond protecting physical spaces—we are deeply committed to strengthening the communities we serve. Today, we’re proud to announce our partnership with Folds of Honor, an organization that embodies the same values of sacrifice, service, and hope that guide our team every day.
Founded in 2007 by Lt Col Dan Rooney, Folds of Honor provides life-changing educational scholarships to the spouses and children of America’s fallen or disabled service members—and now, to the families of first responders. What began with one soldier’s somber homecoming has grown into a nationwide movement of honor and empowerment. To date, the organization has awarded nearly 62,000 scholarships to families who have sacrificed so much.
Why We Joined the Mission
At Citadel, we don’t just understand sacrifice—we live it. Many of our employees, including members of our leadership team, have served in the military or in law enforcement. Their commitment to duty, honor, and country shapes everything we do—from how we train our officers to how we support our clients and communities.
That’s why our partnership with Folds of Honor is especially meaningful. It’s not just a cause we believe in—it’s personal. For our team, giving back to the families of those who serve is a responsibility we carry with pride.
Honoring Sacrifice Through Education
Behind every uniform is a story—of courage, of commitment, and often, of loss. These families carry the weight of that sacrifice, and we believe they deserve our support. By joining forces with Folds of Honor, Citadel Security is helping turn tragedy into opportunity through the power of education.
Citadel employees will be making a monthly donation of $13—symbolizing the 13 folds in the American flag and the 13 stars on the badges worn by Citadel officers—can create lasting change for a family left behind. Through this partnership, we are investing in futures and honoring legacies, one scholarship at a time.
It’s Our Honor to Serve
At Citadel, our values don’t end when a shift does. Whether it’s a hospital, school, commercial property, or local event, our commitment to service is driven by a deeper purpose. We show up—not just to secure spaces, but to uplift people.
Joining Folds of Honor is one more way we’re living those values.
